A common misconception amongst professional wrestling fans is that female wrestlers are generally less entertaining than male wrestlers. To combat this mindset, I have created Marquee Wrestling Association (MWA) for my senior capstone project. MWA is a female-only wrestling federation based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The company strives to show the talents and athleticism of its female wrestling crew through its visuals by combining traditional visuals associated with femininity with aesthetics associated with wrestling and strength. This project was completed over an entire semester and culminated at the end of the school year where it was presented in the USM Art and Design Gallery. I took inspiration for my gallery set up from merchandise tables typically seen at wrestling and other sporting events.
