Heritage Pale Ale was created for my branding-focused graphic communications course. We were randomly assigned a specific design era and were told to create a four pack based off of that era. I was assigned the arts and crafts movement (1875–1920) which is characterized by intricately detailed interior patterns and perfected craftsmanship. This movement was an attempt to combat the industrial revolution and is synonymous with William Morris, who created beautifully complex wallpapers with his company, Morris and Co. to show that machines could not replace human craft.

I created Heritage Strawberry Pale Ale, which is heavily inspired by Morris' "Strawberry Thief."  I simplified his original color palette to pinks, reds, and greens in order to amplify the Stawberry flavor of my pale ale. Although this project was extremely tedious, I have fallen in love with the Arts and Crafts movement and have even started collecting Morris and Co. pieces that I have found at thrift stores!
